چکیده مقاله:
In this experiment 240 Hy-Line (W-36) laying hens from 65 to 75 weeks distributed in 5 treatments and 4 replicates (12 birds per replicate) in a completely randomized design were used. The amounts of watermelon skin meal (WSM) used to set the treatments were 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2% in 1 to 5 experimental groups. The results showed that using WSM up to 2% significantly improved the performance and egg traits of laying hens (P

متن کاملBehavior of laying hens on alfalfa crumble molt diets.
Several dietary alternatives to feed withdrawal have been proposed to induce a molt in laying hens. This study compared the behavior of laying hens on an alfalfa crumble diet (ALC) to hens that were either on a conventional layer diet (FF) or hens that had feed withdrawn (FW) during a 9-d trial. Each treatment consisted of 24 hens (3 hens per battery cage), and treatment began after a 2-week ac...
متن کاملLaying performance and eggshell quality in laying hens fed diets supplemented with prebiotics and organic acids
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of organic acids and the prebiotic fructans on egg production and eggshell quality when added to the layer diet with different levels of calcium and phosphorus. The experiment was carried out on 168 Bovans Brown hens, allocated to 14 groups of 12 replications. Each hen (replication) was kept in an individual cage 40 cm × 40 cm in size. A 2 × 7 fac...
متن کاملEffects of Multi Strain Probiotics on Egg Production and Quality in Laying Hens Fed Diets Containing Food Waste Product
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effects of multistrain probiotics (MP) supplementation to diets containing 40% food waste product (FWP) on egg production and quality. Forty wk-old Lohmann Brown were allocated to 4 dietary treatments with 5 replicates and 2 birds/cage in completely randomized design. A basal diet formulated to contain corn, soybean meal and FWP and 3 addit...
متن کاملThe potential of blue lupins as a protein source, in the diets of laying hens
Layers diets typically contain 15-20% soya due to its high crude protein content (ca. 36%). Reliance on soya for protein can result in large increases in cost of feed due to the law of supply and demand as a global commodity. Lupin grains have high protein content (35-40%) but previous experience with white lupins has shown toxic effects in poultry due to high levels alkaloids and poor performa...
متن کاملThe Use of Dried Tomato Pulp in Diets of Laying Hens
In an experiment with 288 laying hens from a commercial strain (Hy-line W36), the effect of partial and total replacement of soybean meal, corn grain, wheat grain and wheat bran with dried tomato pulp (DTP) on performance and egg quality was determined. In the 12 week experiment, hens (27 to 38 weeks of age) were allocated to four dietary treatments being: DTP0, DTP50, DTP100 and DTP150 of 72 b...
